Save School for refugee communities is a leading education center that provides quality education to refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable communities in Malaysia. The school’s diversity is a sense of pride and strength for the school. We are proud to provide a safe place to garner knowledge for refugees and asylum seekers from Somalia, Yemen, Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Eritrea, South Sudan, and many more.

With a team of experts boasting extensive teaching experience for refugee children, we are well-equipped to help our students grow and thrive – even in challenging times. By really getting to know our students’ educational and sociological needs, our talented team can offer unique and customized sustainable solutions for quality education for these refugee children.

As a learning institute, we believe in building long-lasting strategic partnerships which help us all grow. The school enjoys cordial partnerships with several learning institutions including International School Kuala Lumpur, Charterhouse Malaysia, UNHCR and other NGOs with whom we share mutual values towards education for refugee children. We are confident that these partnerships will empower refugee children to build a strong academic and co-curricular foundation.

Our Background

Save School for refugee communities was established in November 2017 with very limited resources provided by the community back then. In a condominium unit of three small rooms, our students came to study with full faith and hope that they could fulfill their desire for education.

Within a very short time, the number of students grew, and the school shifted to a 3-story house in a residential area. As Save School was established, it made its name among the other refugee schools in the area that have been there for over 10 years. With a growing number of students, our school has finally relocated to a larger unit in a commercial area at Medan Idaman Business Complex.

Now, we have opened our doors to over 200 students, with a strong belief that Education is for all.

I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have spent the last two months teaching at Save school for refugee. It has been a profoundly moving and eye-opening experience. I’ve learned that education is a beacon of hope, especially in the face of adversity. Working with these resilient and eager students has been nothing short of inspiring. Despite the challenges they’ve faced, their enthusiasm for learning and their determination to build a brighter future is unwavering.
